4 Interesting Things to do in Inverness, Scotland
1. The Ness Islands Walk
I hadn’t planned to do any of the things on my list of interesting things to do in Inverness that night, and the plan was to go for a walk and grab something to eat, but I got a bit carried away with the walk part and ended up doing the Ness Islands walk, which was awesome. I got back to the hostel at about 2230, cooked up some of my emergency food, wrote the rest of this entry and called it a night.
2. Climb a Hill
As far as interesting things to do in Inverness, I’m pretty sure the reason I went there was to go walking in the wilderness. After a hearty breakfast of two minute noodles and baked beans I set off to the top of some hill that I saw on a map whilst on my night walk the previous night. I got about 40 minutes in and wasn’t even anywhere near the base of the hill so I abandoned the idea due to lack of time. Bit of a shame really. Probably could have researched a bit better and got a bus or something to the base.
3. Go to the Victorian Markets
Spent the rest of my time in Inverness just looking around town. The Victorian markets were pretty disappointing.
4. See the Law Courts
The best thing on my list of interesting things to do in Inverness that I saw (besides while walking, was the castle, which is also their law courts. Its a bit of a ‘fairly tale’ type castle which was quite amusing.. especially when they brought out people in handcuffs.

A came into Inverness from Perth (Scotland), but you can get a bus all the way from Edinburgh if you don’t want to make the stop.
Cheap Accommodation in Inverness, Scotland
Arrived at Inverness and it was a short walk to the hostel. By the time I got my sh*t sorted out it was about 2000.
I stayed at the Highlander Hostel. It is only about five minute walk from the bus station and a great location, right in the heart of the city. Nice big rooms and very clean. An excellent hostel.. and only 8 quid a night! I highly recommend this hostel.
Next Stop… Glasgow, Scotland
Glasgow is probably the most well known city in Scotland, well, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Of the two, Glasgow is the biggest, but not necessarily the best. Still worth a look though.
