Mount Batur Review, Bali
Originally I was going to climb Mount Batur. I heard it takes an average of four hours return which to me is a nice sized hike (not too long). However, I had rode up a storm the day before so decided to give it a miss this time round since I was probably going to hike up a different volcano a few days later.
Actually, just driving around the area was pretty amazing.
You get some great views of Mount Batur with the lake next to it.
There are a few little towns inside that area also which you can check out.
Riding the motorbike (scooter) through the forest next to the volcano was a bit chilli, and I had other things I wanted to see that day also so I decided to bail after a couple of hours. You could however spend all day riding around that place, not to mention the four hour hike you can opt to do.
Getting to Mount Batur
I hired a motorbike from the good people at the Ajuna House 2 (where I was staying) for 50,000IDR (for the day). It was in good condition, no gears, and came with a helmet.
